Gripple
Fundraising Review of the Year
Posted: 10/01/2012
A look back on our charity work
At the start of 2011, Gripple employees set out to raise money for as many commendable causes we could find. Learning much from our previous successes during the last three years of the Master Cutler's Challenge, we were well equipped as a company to drum up the support we needed.
By setting our own Fundraising Challenge for the year, we were able to focus on four extremely worthwhile local causes - Sheffield Children's Hospital, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, The Alzheimer's Society, and Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind. Aside from sponsorship, all manner of fund-raising projects were devised, including bag-packing, busking, race-days, auctions, competitions and bake-offs.
As part of our pledge to donate a percentage of our profits to different causes, our in-house charities team selected a number of other organisations to support, including various schools, nurseries and hospices. Our teams also took it upon themselves to raise cash for other charities close to their heart. And it wasn't exclusive to Sheffield, with staff across the globe eager to get involved, such as Gripple Europe and Gripple India both organising events to help feed the poor and needy.
On top of all these efforts, we also partook in national events such as Wear It Pink Day and Movember, the latter of which saw a team of employees - The Gripple Face Gardeners - growing moustaches to raise awareness of male cancers. We're extremely happy to be able to help out wherever we can, and by building such events into our calendars we make it part of our working lives. As 2012 stretches out before us, we look forward to helping as many people as possible by putting our renowned innovation to good use and dreaming up increasingly new and creative ways to raise funds.
